NSRA
Southwest Nationals
Oklahoma City, OK
April
2 - 4, 2004
The National Street Rod Association
(NSRA) held its annual Southwest Nationals on the weekend
of April 2nd through the 4th at the State Fair Grounds Park in
Oklahoma City, OK.
In the days leading up to the event, the weather forecast looked
bad. The area was being pelted with heavy rain and hail
storms as well as tornado sightings. We weren't sure if
the weather was going to hold out for this event or not, but we
risked it and made the trip up for it anyhow. Much to our
delight, the event was held without any threat of bad weather.
In fact we couldn't have asked for weather any better. The
sun was out shining brightly and the light breeze was almost
chilly. Even in the middle of the day, the temperature sat
around mid 60s. Cars from all over the country made their
way to Oklahoma for this event. The NSRA is strict to
participation to vehicles that are from 1948 or earlier, so did
not see many 50's or 60's cars at this event except out in the
parking lot or in the car sales corral. Thousands of cars
and their owners filled the grounds as well as vendors and
merchants selling and displaying their goods. Various
events and festivities are part of this street rod weekend.
I took plenty pictures and have a few of the many cars here for
you to enjoy. Be sure to get info for next year's event
and make your way up to Oklahoma City for the next Southwest
Nationals event.
