Fun
Day Celebration -- Downtown La Feria
February 28, 2004
The
City of La Feria sponsored a Fun Day on their downtown streets
as a celebration of their town. They invited the valley to
come out and join them for this day of celebration and
festivities. Parts of their activities included, live
music, rides, sales vendors, food, and of course an old car
show. Participants that brought out their old
cars were charged $5 to enter their cars, however, they received
a BBQ plate and the $5 was entered into a pot from which hourly
drawings were made for cash prizes. Also, at the end of
the event, a larger cash prize was drawn for from those that
brought out their cars.
A good number
of cars made their way out to the event and a few that were new
to our local old car scene. It is always a great thing to
see and meet new people in our hobby that we haven't seen or met
before. Hope that more and more of these cars make their
way out of the woodwork and out for us all to enjoy viewing and
hanging out with other old car hobbyists.
