Mission Classic Car Show 2012
February 25, 2012
Mission, TX
In the weeks
leading up to February 25th, 2012, the local weather forecasters
were predicting that the weekend was to have nice clear weather,
with sun and light breeze. Then, they decided that the
week before would be filled with rain showers and cool
temperatures and that the day itself would clear up and be warm.
As the days counted down, every day there was a new forecast and
every different forecaster had a different idea of what the day
would show. It was decided that rain or shine, the show
was going to go on, so it was set that the 9th annual Mission
Classic Car Show was going to happen one way or another.
It turned out the weather in the week leading up to Saturday was
nice, warm and ideal south Texas weather. Early Saturday
morning however, down came the showers and the temperature.
At the time registration was to open, there were 6 cars in the
show parking lot the temperature was 44 degrees and everything
was soaked. The rain stopped and things began to dry up
and slowly cars started showing up. Turn out was not as
great as it had been in years past, but still was a pretty good
turn out. The sun came out and made a great day for a car
show. Here is some of what you
missed.
