Hot Rod's Power
Tour 2003
Each year, Hot Rod Magazine
puts together what they refer to as Power Tour. This is a
special event which invites people from across the country and
around the globe to bring out their special interest or
"powerful" rides and tour across a pre-determined path across a
piece of our country. Not all the cars participating are
"old cars", though many are nice vintage hot rods or street
rods. The event usually draws out a good variety of cars
and people from every walk of life as well.
This year, the Power Tour ran
from Nashville, TN to Arlington, TX. Thousands of cars
participated in the event along with even more people.
Several large corporate sponsors help to make this a success
each year with funding and offer a variety of gifts, give-aways,
and special events or meals for the participants. Towns
and people all along the way are more than happy and over-joyed
to see the long string of cars cruise through their towns.
A few people from the Valley participated in the Hot Rod Power
Tour 2003 and have all passed on how much they enjoyed their
time and are looking forward to participating next year and in
future years as well.
Danny and
Yvonne Black of Mission, TX were among a few of the locals who
participated in the tour this year. Yvonne kept a journal
of events and submitted her pictures and words to us.
