Mission Classic Car Show 2008 -- Mission
Despite the
onset of showers, heavy winds, and less than ideal weather in
the days before the event, we were greeted on the morning of
Saturday, March 8th with some beautiful weather and perfect
conditions for a car show. This marked the 5th annual
"attempt" for this event and it was a success. Once again
Jim Schroeder and family and friends stepped up to organize and
host a great event for old car hobbyists and enthusiasts.
The event was held at a new location this year at the Sharyland
Sports Park and had a much larger parking area for the show cars
and helped to get out away from the congestion and confusion of
the downtown traffic in Mission. The car count was
somewhere in the range of 300 cars and the spectator count was
well HUGE. Despite the move to the new location, the
spectators still managed to find us and they were there in large
order. Just goes to show how many folks there are out
there that really do appreciate and enjoy the old car hobby.
We look forward to next year again. Here is some of the
vehicles in attendance.
Photos provided by
Dale Davidhizar. A very special thanks to Dale .... we were
working the show and didn't get a chance to go snap pictures of
the show, so had to call on Dale to share his shots.
